Pedestrian severely injured in hit and run

When drivers choose to drink and drive, they put your life in danger. Not only are they a danger to other cars, they are also a danger to pedestrians. A drunk driver can cause you life-threatening injuries.

A pedestrian in Massachusetts received serious injuries recently after a drunk driver hit him and then fled the scene. The driver’s negligence in drinking and driving and then fleeing the scene put the pedestrian’s life in danger.

Police arrested a drunk driver in connection to the accident

Police in Chicopee reported a 3:15 a.m. call about a man lying in the street. After getting the man to the hospital, they received a call about a vehicle with damage driving around another part of the town. The driver allegedly confessed to driving while intoxicated on alcohol and marijuana. Police arrested him for both driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a crash.

The driver put the pedestrian’s life in danger

By choosing to drive under the influence of alcohol and drugs, the driver put the pedestrian’s life in severe danger. The police reported that the pedestrian sustained life-threatening head injuries. If he survives, he will have a long road of recovery ahead.

Severe injuries can change a person’s life

Drivers who choose to drive drunk create danger for pedestrians. As the pedestrian heals, he will need to go through extensive medical treatment. And if he received a traumatic brain injury, he may never fully heal.

Depending on the severity of his injuries, he may need medical care for the rest of his life. He and his family will need to explore their options and create a plan.
