The highways in Massachusetts and elsewhere are filled with various vehicles. While many travel in their personal vehicles, others use public and private forms of transportation to get to their final destinations. These larger forms of transportation can put numerous passengers at risks, especially if a car accident results.

According to recent reports, a severe accident occurred on Route 95 in Attleboro. The crash involved a large van carrying a tour group from the Polish American community and a SUV. Authorities believe the accident occurred when the SUV struck the van traveling with 11 occupants.

The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to travel into the grassy median where the van flipped over, ripping the roof off of the van. This resulting in all 11 occupants, including the driver, getting tossed out of the van as it came to a rest in the lanes on the other side of the median.

All occupants of the van were transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Two passengers were later pronounced dead at the hospital. The remaining nine victims all suffered serious injuries. The 32-year-old woman driving the SUV only suffered minor injuries. Investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.

Following a tragic accident involving deaths and severe injuries, victims and the loved ones of the deceased likely have many questions. Once cause is established, liability can be better understood. If a negligent driver is to blame, those harmed in the crash could hold a negligent driver accountable. A personal injury action or wrongful death claim could help victim with the recovery of compensation for losses suffered as well.
