In 1912, Walter J. Donovan began his law practice in Adams, Massachusetts. He was joined by J. Norman O'Connor, Sr., in 1954, and soon thereafter, the firm of Donovan & O'Connor was formed. The firm grew over the years to serve all of western Massachusetts and southern Vermont as well as portions of eastern New York. Donovan & O'Connor opened its Bennington, Vermont office in 1996 and in 2003 relocated its main office to the Mass MoCA complex in North Adams, Massachusetts. In 2009, the firm opened a third office in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
Today, Donovan & O'Connor is listed among the top law offices in Massachusetts and consists of 16 attorneys and 16 support staff, including 6 paralegals. Our attorneys practice in both state and federal courts and are admitted to the bars of Massachusetts, Vermont and New York.
